Empowering Middle School Students with Awareness

Our Efforts to Combat Human Trafficking

Recently, we had an incredible opportunity to connect with middle school students and talk to them about the serious issue of human trafficking. The room was so still, you could hear a pin drop, as I shared a powerful survivor’s story with these young, eager minds.

The story was about a teenager who, seeking a way out, ran away from home to meet someone she’d met online. It seemed like a path to freedom, but tragically, it led her straight into the hands of a heartless pimp.

For many of these middle schoolers, the concept of human trafficking was completely new, and they were shocked to learn that so many young people right here in our country are trapped in this terrible situation.

Our programs are all about making sure that teens and vulnerable individuals can spot the signs and have the knowledge they need to make safe choices. We believe that awareness is the key to prevention.

If your middle school is interested in having us come and talk to your students, please reach out to us at kwilliams@faithcollaborative.org. Let’s work together to make a real impact.
